Pre-Game Report: Giants vs. Blazers

The Vancouver Giants will host their divisional rivals the Kamloops Blazers for the first time this season on Friday evening. The G-Men are 1-7-1-1 and have lost their last eight straight games while the Blazers are 4-7-0-0. Kamloops won the season series between the two clubs last year, taking seven of eight games against Vancouver.

The Giants will be back in the friendly confines of the Pacific Coliseum after a long prairie road trip that saw them go 0-4-1-1 against the East Division. Vancouver will also be looking for its first win at home this year as the G-Men are 0-3 at the Coliseum. Forward Trent Lofthouse is expected to make his Giants debut while Friday's game marks the first opportunity for Giants fans to see Dalton Thrower. The 20-year-old blue liner leads the team in points with six.

The Blazers are coming off back-to-back wins after defeating Lethbridge and Seattle on Monday and Wednesday respectively. Kamloops sits in ninth in the Western Conference, four points ahead of Vancouver. Forward Cole Ully, a fifth round pick of the Dallas Stars, and defenseman Josh Connolly share the team lead in points for the Blazers with 11 each. Connolly is the brother of former Prince George Cougar and Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick Brett Connolly.
